Refresh Your Kitchen With DIY Garbage Disposal Pods

Last Update: September 28, 2022

If you’ve ever turned on the garbage disposal switch only to be greeted by a not-so-pleasant odor coming from the kitchen sink, then we’ve got a DIY recipe to freshen things up—fast! This easy recipe combines laundry powder with a few pantry staples like baking soda and salt. We like the refreshing, citrusy notes of orange essential oil, but you can use any favorite scent before popping the mix into molds to set.

DIY Garbage Disposal Tablets

What you need

2 cups baking soda
1 cup salt
1/3 cup water
1 scoop Molly’s Suds Oxygen Whitener
25 drops orange essential oil
1-inch circular molds

Instructions

Add baking soda and salt to a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix ½ cup water with 1 scoop oxygen whitener, then add essential oil drops. Pour wet ingredients into dry and add more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until mixture loosely holds together. Fill molds; let dry 24 hours. Use 2 tablets any time your disposal needs refreshing!
